INTERFACE MASTERS Technologies Introduces a Unique 10 Gigabit Aggregator Switch with Bypass Capabilities.
Niagara 2810 Offers Multiple Configurations for Connecting 1Gb Appliances to 10Gb Networks

San Jose, California, December 9, 2008 – Interface Masters Technologies, an industry leader and innovator in networking solutions, today introduced a new family of 10 Gigabit (10Gb) products targeted for Networking Inline Devices, Security Appliances and Central Office applications. The Niagara 2810 features a four 10Gb port switch with an additional 24 gigabit port and active bypass switch capabilities. The system can support 2 fully independent 10 GB segments that can support aggregation, TAP, filtering and load balancing. Due to its target market the system possesses active bypass capabilities which enable simple and quick plug and play connectivity of inline and security appliances.

The Niagara 2810 10Gb aggregator switch family is managed by a 64 bit MIPS controller which provides full CLI and GUI management. The management system includes secure web UI via HTTPS, secure shell (SSH), SNMP, e-mail notification upon special events, and trunk configuration.

The systems Bypass functionality support SR and LR fiber technology without any data loss. The active bypass auto heartbeat is customizable and enables connectivity without the need for additional drivers while adjusting the configured trunks according to the link status. The unique combination of 1 GB and 10Gb bandwidth provide a seamless connection between gigabit appliances to 10 gigabit networks.

“Interface Masters is committed to support the high speed networking market and we are in the process of introducing multiple specialized products targeting the 10 Gigabit appliances.” stated Ben Askarinam, Senior VP at Interface Masters Technologies. “The Niagara 2810 is the first member of a range of products that will support aggregation, Bypass, TAP, filtering and load balancing.
