Interface Masters announces VM-aware Dual Port 1G Bypass NIC based on Intel

San Francisco CA VMworld 2012, August 27th, 2012 – Interface Masters Technologies, an industry leader and innovator in networking solutions, today announced the first member of its virtual machine-aware Bypass Server adapter family that supports dual ports 1 Gigabit Copper Bypass. Niagara 42265-VM supports Virtual Machine control to ensure smooth integration with PCI-express (PCI-e) based Inline Networking Servers that leverage VM capabilities, including WAN Acceleration, UTM, SAN/NAS appliances, IPS, Security and Monitoring Appliances such as Firewalls, IDS and Analysis Probes. The robust virtual machine-aware NIC supports the available virtual machine software like virtual machines from Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, KVM, Oracle and others.

The Niagara 42265-VM server adapters supports and leverages the Intel latest Ethernet controller which provides PCI-e 2.0 (5 GT/s) support, low power operation, per packet time-stamping, and intelligent queue support (including virtual machine data queues) optimized for multi-core processors. In addition, the controller possesses specialized features including jumbo frame size of 9.5 KB, load-balancing of network traffic flow, IPv6 Offloading, Receive Side Scaling (RSS), and Direct Cache Access. The Intel controller has broad OS support and certifications including VMware ESX, XEN and Hyper-V.
