Interface Masters Technologies Introduces Dual Port 10GBASE-T Low Latency Copper Server Adapter Card

The Niagara 32722-TX Mellanox Based NIC Provides High Speed Network Connectivity

Interop NY, New York, NY Sep 30, 2014 – Interface Masters Technologies, an industry leader and innovator in networking solutions, announces a brand new 10GBASE-T Server Adapter Card based on Mellanox® Technologies ConnectX®-3 Pro 10 Gigabit Ethernet chipset. This Mellanox based card is designed for industry-leading connectivity for performance-driven server and storage applications in enterprise, cloud and Web 2.0 hyper-scale data center environments. The new Niagara 32722-TX NIC has 100/1000/10Gbps auto-negotiation capabilities. This low-profile 10G NIC enables system integrators, IT security companies, service providers, datacenters, MSOs and telcos to utilize the latest multi-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology even in the most space sensitive server applications 1U and 2U chassis.

ConnectX-3 Pro with hardware offload engines to Overlay Networks (“Tunneling”), provides a high performance and flexible interconnect solution for PCI Express Gen3 servers used in public and private clouds, Web 2.0 hyper-scale data centers, and high performance computing. PCIe 3.0 utilizes a more efficient 128b/130b encoding scheme and as a result of removal of the overhead, the interconnect bandwidth has grown to 8Gb/s per lane.

“Organizations are now looking to better support their virtualized infrastructures with higher-bandwidth connectivity that enables them to support more users, to faster analyze data and to overall increase their data center return-on-investment,” said Gilad Shainer, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Based on Mellanox’s leading ConnectX-3 Pro 10GbE controller, the Niagara 32722-TX 10GBASE-T NIC provides the most advanced features, performance and efficiency for cloud and Web 2.0 hyper-scale data centers.”

The Niagara 32722-TX is based on AQ1202 10GBASE-T PHY from Aquantia. The PHY’s low power and small footprint enables a seamless implementation of high-density 10GE NIC for applications ranging from Cloud Computing to Enterprise. Possessing inherent support for triple speed (100Mb, Gigabit and 10Gigabit Ethernet) the PHY ensures the Niagara 32722-TX provides appliance vendors with a smooth transition from legacy installations to the latest 10GE support.

“Aquantia has been at the forefront of 10GBASE-T innovation, delivering industry-leading silicon to data center and enterprise applications,” stated Faraj Aalaei, president and CEO of Aquantia. “We are proud to be a partner of Interface Masters on the development of the Niagara 32722-TX NIC card based on our low-power 40nm dual-port product.”

“As we see a growing trend towards 10GBASE-T requirements in the market, Interface Masters has continued to develop innovative offerings to meet the demand,” stated Ben Askarinam, founder and CEO of Interface Masters Technologies. “We have partnered with Mellanox and Aquantia to develop the Niagara 32722-TX which will address the highest performance standards of the enterprise, security and datacenter markets.”

Niagara 32722-TX provides features that are essential in today’s data centers:

  • 10GbE connectivity for servers and storage
  • Industry-leading throughput and latency performance
  • Virtualization acceleration
